Midland University Volleyball is now recognized as an elite program on the NAIA national stage. During the 2016 and 2017 seasons, Midland Volleyball drew over 21,000 fans to its home matches helping create one of the best home court atmosphere’s in NAIA Volleyball. Midland continued success in the 2017 campaign as they qualified for their 5th consecutive National Championship Tournament. Only six teams among 220 in the NAIA have been to the National Championships each of the last five years. Midland exceled in pool play at Nationals before losing a tough fifth set 15-11 in the Sweet Sixteen. Midland has now been ranked in the Top 25 for 55 consecutive polls which ties for second as most active streak. Midland University Volleyball players also excel in the classroom as the team had a cumulative GPA of 3.92 during the 2017-2018 academic year. It was the highest GPA among all NAIA athletic programs, not just among volleyball programs. Midland had one of the highest number of scholar-athletes on the team this past season with 9 players receiving the honor. Players come to Midland to be challenged on the court and in the classroom.
